Youth Program (6-13)
Generally accepting students aged 6 to 13, the youth program focuses primarily on body movement and coordination, proper technique and competitive skills for the younger athlete. More importantly, since the study of judo is far more than simply a physical activity, we explore concepts critically important to the development of future leaders and citizens, such as respect, integrity, moral courage and character. Timely societal issues such as anti-bullying, self defense, peer pressure and life habits are also highlighted.
Senior Program (14+)
This program is open to judoka fourteen and above, regardless of rank, skill level or overall goals for learning judo. The program is for competitors and non-competitors alike and no experience is necessary to join. We combine a foundational study of the important, underlying concepts and techniques of judo with advanced strategy and training for those with competitive aspirations. The judoka will be involved in deliberate practice sessions, utilizing proven methodology to achieve results through proper planning and intelligent, committed training. We also work on practical applications, self-protection and defensive tactics during this time.
Supplemental Conditioning / Fitness Program
This is a senior training time (age fourteen and above) where flexibility, movement, balance, strength and conditioning will be the focus. Separate groups will be established as necessary, with appropriate exercises conducted by each group. This is a great opportunity for competitors and non-competitors alike to get in shape regardless of current physical abilities.
